Please read the following terms and conditions carefully. Using the Smart Community Fife web sites indicates your agreement with our acceptable use policy and these terms and conditions. Do not use the web site without adhering to these rules.

Our Mission
To create and develop a web portal that is a community-driven information source. The portal will be be relevant, responsive, accessible and meet the developing needs of our communities. It will also promote our communities to a global audience.
We will do this by working in partnership with key stakeholders, partners and providers. We will do this openly, honestly, responsibly and in the spirit of community.
Acceptable Behaviour
Everyone using this site must do so in a responsible manner, respecting the rights of others, and abiding by all UK laws and regulations.This includes (but is not limited to)
- using appropriate language (and refraining from abuse and obscenities)
- not using false identities, names or e-mail addresses
- not distributing threatening, obscene, libelous, or defamatory information and material
- not distributing confidential information (or other material protected by trade or official secrets legislation)
- respecting copyright and intellectual property rights of others, and any other materials protected by law.
Censorship
We will not censor material unless we have good reason to believe it is illegal, defamatory, obscene or fraudulent.

Our Rights

- charge for advertising on the site at some point in the future
- change our service including changes to our procedures and the structure of the site
- remove any postings and submissions in violation of our rules (the interpretation of what constitutes a violation is solely at the discretion of Smart Community Fife)
- remove links to any sites which contain unacceptable content (see below)
- enforce our rules and conditions (but failure to enforce them does not imply consent to any non-observance).
Disclaimer of Liability
We are using up to date technology and hardware. We cannot however be held responsible for the temporary loss of access due to third party hardware or software failure, general delays or other problems on the internet, telecommunications failures or other unforeseen problems.
We will try to keep the material on the site accurate and up to date, but we cannot guarantee that it will be free from errors or interruptions. We are not liable for any damage (financial or otherwise) resulting from the use of information on the site.

Content
Users listed in our directory must take full responsibility for all statements made on their web pages. They must not promote or advertise any products, services or events which are illegal in the UK or EC, or would cause (justifiable) offence to others.
Access to Restricted Areas
Access to and use of restricted and/or password protected areas of the site is permitted to authorised users only. Unauthorised users attempting to access these areas may be prosecuted.
Links to Other Sites
We visit sites to make sure they are acceptable before adding them as links. However, we cannot fully check these sites, subsequent links from them, or ensure that their contents remain acceptable.
