Local Gateside residents and Fife Safety Camera Partnership show that joint working brings about change by taking action to reduce speeding in the village of Gateside.

Local people advised the local Police and Partnership about growing community concern relating to the speed of traffic flow in their village, particularly heavy goods vehicles, and action was taken to address it.  

Fife Safety Camera Partnership Manager, Andy Jones advised:

"We have worked closely with the residents by monitoring the 'community concern site' and the outcome reinforced the issues raised by the community about speeding.   Gateside village will be added to our deployment activity from 29 September (2008).

"Education is an important part of our strategy and particular concern about heavy goods vehicles were addressed by targeted specific companies, at the local residents request, and posting fleet packs containing information about the concerns of the village residents. Companies have welcomed the pack and have requested more information to help them address the issue in-house" This enforcement reinforces that undertaken by local and road policing officers."
