Walking

The Lomond Hills rise to almost 1750ft at West Lomond (the nearest to Strathmiglo & Gateside) and 1500ft at East Lomond. With expansive views from both summits plus notable historic features, the Lomond Hills Regional Park provides exceptional walking and recreational opportunities for locals and visitors alike. Craigmead Car Park in Falkland has good access for walkers to both the East and West Lomond Hills. It has a picnic area, information boards & toilets.

The Lomond Hills Regional Park is on Strath's doorstep Strathmiglo Community woodland is managed by Fife Ranger Service

Strathmiglo also has its own Community Woodland. Managed by the Fife Ranger Service, the woodland provides paved walking and biking tracks. From time to time, the Ranger arranges community conservation activities - watch the events calendar for more on this.

Cycling

Strathmiglo is a main stop-off point on the Kingdom of Fife Millennium Cycleway 109 mile long ‘Kingdom Route'. This route takes you through the west and north of Fife between the Forth and Tay Road Bridges - past the former mining towns of south west Fife, through the Cleish Hills, between the farms of the Howe and by the harbours of the Tay. The route, should you fancy completing it all could be tough for some, so please choose your route wisely. Alternatively there are other shorter and easier cycleways criss-crossing Strathmiglo and the Howe. Take your pick and enjoy the healthy way to get around.

Golf

Fife is famous for its golf courses. Whilst St Andrews is only a 35 minute drive from Strathmiglo & Gateside, Falkland's picturesque 9-hole golf course and Open Championship qualifying course Ladybank  and are only 5 and 10 minutes away respectively.
