  1. Strath Community Assoc: Senior Citizens Summer Drive

    Thursday, 4th September, 2008 — Monday, 4th August, 2008

    The Strathmiglo Community Association summer drive departs the Strathmiglo Bowling Club at 12 noon for Pitlochry via Blairgowrie and Moulin Moor, return via Dunkeld. High tea provided. The drive should be back by 8pm. Cost £5 per qualifying person, payable on the day. Subject to availability guests are allowed, cost 310pp. To qualify you must be over 65 years (for men, 60 for women) and be resident in Strathmiglo. Invitations will be issued to qualifying households on or before 20 August, for completion and return to Strath Post Office by 28 Aug. we hope to fill a 52-seater bus. Very happy too to have Wolfstone and The Stars from The Commitments on board plus The Hazey Janes and recently added to the bill are Sergeant and State of Affairs which completes the festival line up.   3. Flowers of Falkland

    In celebration of Percy Cane Gardens at Falkland Palace 60th Anniversary, an event has been organised to enjoy the garden flowers. The event will start with a garden tour, led by the Head Gardener, where visitors will able to learn about Falkland Gardens and flowers. This will be followed by a flower arrangement demonstration & lecture given by Ann Monroe, using flowers from the gardens for her arrangements. The arrangements will be inspired by the garden's history, from 1451 (the date of the first gardens and gardener's records) through 1948 (the creation of the Percy Cane Pleasure Gardens), to the present. Refreshments will be served during the interval. Price: £10 for non-NTS members, £5 for NTS members

    National Car Wash, the Firefighters Charity, hopes to raise funds by washing as many cars as possible on Sat 13th Spetember at Auchtermuchty Fife Station. National Car Wash has supported over 13,500 men, women and children from the fire community in the last twelve months. Let us was your car, and we can help even more.

  10. Doors Open Day - Monimail Tower

    Doors Open Days give you free access to hundreds of fascinating buildings across Scotland. Members of the public are encouraged to come and explore this restored 16th century tower, the main remnant of the medieval palace of the Archbishops of St Andrews. Four storeys high with wide views from the roof. This year there will be local trained guides on site to take you around points of interest in Monimail's historic landscape. Tea and cakes available for sale as well as medieval crafts pottery, metalwork and apple pressing for cider making. Exhibition on history and restoration of the tower.
  11. Harvest Thanksgiving & lunch

    Come join the Harvest Thanksgiving and 'Back to Church' Sunday at the Church Hall in Strathmiglo on 21st September. The service will be followed by soup & a roll lunch in support of Christian Aid. (The disabled footpath at the church is complete and will be available for use once the access door to the church has been repaired.) All welcome.
