		Strath Garage withdraws post office bid Strath Garage has withdrawn its interest in taking over Strathmiglo's post office.

		Gateside School Easter Celebration Friends and family are invited to join the school for their Easter Celebration on Fri 26 March from 2pm-3pm in the Gateside Memorial Hall.

About Strathmiglo

Strathmiglo, affectionately known as ‘Strath' by the locals, has long been linked both economically and via its people, to nearby Falkland Palace.

In the 18th and 19th centuries the textile (milling & linen weaving) industry was important, as was boot-making in the 20th century.

Today the village is largely a commuting centre for those working in nearby Cupar, St Andrews, Glenrothes and beyond. The Church and the Tollbooth are attractive & prominent reminders of Strathmiglo's long and colourful history. 

Strathmiglo has an existing Strathmiglo community website with wonderful old photos of the village. 

Did you know? Strathmiglo is the ancestral home of Johnny Cash (The American Country & Western Icon)! 

About Gateside

Gateside lies 2 miles west of Strathmiglo, in the lea of the Lomond Hills. It is a much smaller settlement, comprising a school, a pub, a church, a Memorial Village Hall and a garage.

The River Eden runs through the village alongside Gateside Mills, which was once home to large scale linen manufacturing. Today the Mill houses specialist shopping outlets for arts, crafts and furniture.
