Match Report: Strathmiglo United 1 - 5 Rosyth Civil Service

From John Schofield, Tuesday, 20th May, 2008

United's final game of this seasons Glendale Plastics League campaign was to say the least disappointing. There is no denying Rosyth were the better team but in Strath's defence they had to field a team when their squad was decimated by injuries. They had no less than five trialists in the squad.

The visitors took the game by the scruff of the neck and built up a five goal lead, but without appearing biased at least two of these goals had more than a look of offside about them. McIntosh scored Strath's solitary counter late on and for the second match in succession the adjudication of the contest did not go United's way.

Strath will now have to get over their injury crisis and no doubt look forward to improved performances in both cup finals hopefully resulting in a happy ending to season 2007/08.
