Local outlets for Big Tent tickets: early bird discounted prices
From Helen Lawrenson,
Wednesday, 10th March, 2010
Big Tent aficionados now have the chance to take advantage of early bird tickets that offer a 10% discount on ticket prices, simply by visiting a local outlet.
This year's Big Tent is bigger and better than ever, with an extended and packed programme of activities and entertainment now running from 6pm on Friday 23rd until 9pm on Sunday 25th July.
Tickets can currently be purchased from six local venues including:
- Falkland Centre for Stewardship offices, The Stables, Falkland Estate
- Fayre Earth, Back Wynd, Falkland Estate
- Pillars of Hercules, Falkland Estate
- The Ceramic Experience, 49 Bonnygate, Cupar
- Beanscene, Bell Street, St Andrews,
- Anyone For Tennis, 207 South Street, St Andrews
Venues further afield (soon to be selling tickets) include:
- Celtic Sanctuary, 443-447 High Street, Kirkcaldy
- Beanscene, Creswell Lane, Glasgow
- Beanscene, Nicolson Street, Edinburgh and
- Beanscene, King Street, Stirling
Tickets can also be purchased via Ticketmaster
Helen Lawrenson, Centre Director, Falkland Centre for Stewardship said: "We are committed to ensuring that Big Tent remains a family-friendly, affordable and great value event. We are delighted to announce these local ticket outlets and negotiations are underway with other venues across Fife and beyond. Our aim is to give people the opportunity to purchase tickets directly with no additional booking fee."
She continued: "Although we have had to increase prices slightly this year to reflect the extended festival programme and the VAT we are now liable to pay, the cost of an adult's weekend ticket has only increased by £2.00 per day and children under 12 get in for free.
As a charity, any profits that are made at Big Tent go directly back into the charity as well as enabling us to plan for next year's Big Tent. We are planning to provide some free buses for visitors which we hope will also reduce people's costs and further details will be announced as we have them.
"Even without the early bird specials which are available until 30 April, Big Tent is still one of the most affordable festivals on the circuit by a considerable margin, but we'd urge as many people as possible to book early to secure the current discounts."
Big Tent is Scotland's environmental festival and winner of the greener festival award 2009. For further information please visit Big Tent's website.
