Letham Nights #1 Success!

From Mike Farrell, Tuesday, 16th December, 2008

Letham Village Hall was host on Friday night 12th December to the inaugural 'Letham Nights'.

Around 100 people packed the hall to listen and dance to the music of a varied line-up of performers.

The evening kicked off with two members of young Edinburgh band Sidelock: a cover of Killers classic Mr Brightside was followed by some of their own songs including Take a Chance.

They were followed by the unique sound of Panda Su, otherwise known as Suzanne Isabel Ferreira. Her haunting voice filled the hall with songs like Moviegoer and My Sorry Little Heart.

Folksingers Graham and Roy then did a set of folk classics, finishing with a rousing rendition of Caledonia, before the Moonzie Allstars took to the stage. Then the place really began to jump! The fusion of salsa and African rhythms with the traditional sound of Uileann pipes took us by storm.
