Get along to Letham Nights in 2010...

From Mike Farrell, Tuesday, 5th January, 2010

Happy New Year Everyone!  All the best from Letham Nights for 2010 and thank you for your support over the last year.

In 2009 we brought you

  • 9 Letham Nights, with
  • over 600 folk attending,
  • 180 choosing to be on the mailing list and
  • 20 different acts from as near as down the road to as far as Melbourne, Chicago and London.

There was folk, world, blues, punk, indie rock, alternative rock, folk-punk, acoustic sets, electric sets, solo artists, duo's, full bands...you must admit it was good and we nearly always got it right. Here's a wee photo montage of some of the acts.

So 2010 beckons and the opportunities for more good music, good company and good fun are endless.  We have a long list of acts lined up who want to play Letham Nights.  All we need is for YOU to come along and enjoy yourself.

Bring your friends, neighbours, relations.  We don't mind if you can't make it every time but it only works with your support.

First up, a wee winter warmer with the wonderful Black Cat Jook Band on Saturday 16 January, offering you some sweet, southern, ragtime blues. They will be supported on the night by Glenrothes-based singer-songwriter Xander Duffy whose haunting, soulful voice you will love.

Even better print it off and post in your local noticeboard / shop!

On 13 March, we welcome the Bevvy Sisters.

What can I say about the Bevvy Sisters?  Well, it is their time, so don't miss it.  Some of us are also going to see them on 30th January at Celtic Connections for the launch of their new album 'The St James Sessions'.  Can't wait. Take a peek at some of their reviews and have a wee listen here

We have plans beyond that of course but we are going to keep you in suspense for now!
