Police in Auchtermuchty are currently investigating damage caused in a local graveyard and are turning to the community in Strathmiglo to appeal for witnesses.  

During March of this year, damage was caused to 12 gravestones within the graveyard at St Martins Churchyard, Kirk Wynd, Strathmiglo. Each of the stones had been toppled over although none have been broken.  

PC David Birrell, the investigating officer, said of this enquiry "It is strongly suspected that the damage happened during the last weekend of March. Such despicable behaviour by those responsible, I am sure, will disgust those within our local community. I would urge any person who has knowledge of this incident or witnessed persons behaving suspiciously within the graveyard to contact us on our appeals line on 01592 251111".
