Those who keep reading pace with members of the Giffordtown Book Club have another week in which to finish January's tome - Stieg Larsson's ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. 

That's because the next meeting has been postponed until the second week in February, Thursday 11th, allowing members to attend the Scottish National Opera's evening of ‘Opera Highlights' in Strathmiglo Hall.  

Expect to hear a few experimental trills in the hamlet afterwards.  Barbershop quartet, anyone?
