The Church of Scotland has a scheme that allows ministers to take 2 weeks per year Study Leave. Mr Redpath is taking Study leave during the last two weeks of February to increase his knowledge of Church law. This will help him in his position as Presbytery Clerk. Pastoral duties will be covered by the Rev Neil McLay, Minister of Creich, Flisk and Kilmany linked with Monimail who can be contacted by telephone on 01337 870332. Mrs Kay McCall will also be available if needed.

On Thursday afternoons during lunch break, Mr Maxwell - instructor for the Shukokai Karate Academy Scotland (S.K.A.S.) - is conducting kumite (sparring training) with students from Bell Baxter and his own clubs.

Members of the Freuchie Flood Action Group were left disappointed yesterday when a long-planned meeting with Environment Minister, Mike Russell MSP was cancelled at the last minute.

Sad to say, only three out of ten members in the Giffordtown Book Club managed to ride the rough seas of Redmond O’Hanlon’s ‘Trawler’ and reach safe haven.

COFFEE MORNING CANCELLED. Calling all faithful visitors to the monthly Giffordtown Coffee Mornings! Please note that this month's gathering, scheduled for Thursday 19th. February, is cancelled, due to sanding of the hall floor on that day. The Coffee Mornings will resume in March - on Thursday 19th. Expect to be dazzled by the newly refurbished floor!

The coffee morning planned for 28th February has been postponed until Saturday 28th March due to a training programme having been arranged for leaders in the Cub Scout section.

There was a packed house at the Village Inn, Pitlessie, last Tuesday, as members and guests of the Rotary Club of the Howe of Fife celebrated the 250th. anniversary of Rabbie Burns’ birth.
