    The NE Fife branch of the National Childcare Trust are holding another of their infamous nearly new sales at the Old Parish Church on sat Nov 8th. You'll be able to buy and sell children's toys, clothes, books, baby equipment and maternity clothes.   8. A better quality place to live - Transition in Falkland

    Buying what you need isn’t always what you want. Are there more satisfying ways to live more locally? In Falkland village hall on Tuesday 11 November at 7:30, there will be a meeting to start finding ways to improve our local quality of life. Contributors will be residents from the village and locally, who can explain what they have already done, and what could be done. This will include local examples of using crafts, trying to re-learn skills and crafts from our recent or grandparents generations, or networks for borrowing not buying, considering consumption, sharing transport or hardest of all – walking around a bit. This is part of the Transition Falkland programme, which has already attracted tens of people to meetings on local energy, and food. Now with extra people becoming involved , there will be more happening in December – watch out ! All events are free.

    Cupar Farmers’ Market is held on the Third Saturday of every month. Likely producers include Iain Spink (Traditional Smokies From Arbroath), Puddledub Buffalo and Pork, Bellfield Organic Nursery, Caurnie Soap Co, Gartmorn Farm Poultry, Fletchers of Auchtermuchty and Hilton Wild Boar.   12. N.Howe Transition Toun: Preparing for a Changing Future

    The North Howe Transition Toun have been active this year, hosting a series of awareness raising events looking at possible effects of peak oil and climate change on the local community. There's growing interest from local people who want to get actively involved in practical projects to help us prepare for a changing future, and this public meeting at Letham Village Hall is the next stage in forming action groups to take ideas forward and develop specific projects. All welcome.

  16. Heart of Fife RDA: Unaffiliated Challenge Show, Jumping

    Support the Heart of Fife Riding for the Disabled group at a public show at Dabbs on 23rd November. Open to the public both to enter and to spectate, there will be a tombola and a sales table. Dabbs cafe will be open too, lovely chips! There is a class at 2pm for RDA riders only, we're expecting around 20 TDA showjumpers. Come along and see for yourself how skilled our riders are. And if you're interested in volunteering, please get in touch.
