Get ready for Ladybank Festive Week 2008!

Ladybank's 2008 Festive Week is shaping up to be another fun-packed community event with entertainment and activities for all ages.
Programmes will be available shortly from committee members and in local shops - look out also for door-to-door sales. Due to the decline of the 500 club, this year the Festive Committee are charging £1 per programme in order to raise Festive funds. It could be the best £1 spent though - there's a £50 prize for the lucky programme number!
Here's how festive celebrations look:
Wednesday 11th June
The fun kicks off on with Senior 7-a-side football, kick-off 6pm at Victoria Park. All those interested in playing should register with George Fairbairn, tel 830145 before 9th June to be in with a chance of collecting the £50 winning team prize fund (runners-up collect £25). Players must be 17 years and over.
Friday 13th June
Turn up and enter the annual Adult & Junior Pool Tournament, held in the marquee at Victoria Park. Adults compete for the Craig Lawson Memorial Trophy, whilst the under 16s battle it out for the Ladybank Festive Committee Shield. Start time 7pm. All welcome
Saturday 14th June
Pageant Day kicks off at 12.30pm with a grand procession of floats, vintage vehicles, motorcycles and a Pipe band from the railway station to Victoria Park. Arriving approx 12:45pm.
Then its straight into competition time with prizes for
- the Best Float
- Fancy Dress
- Vintage Vehicles
- Best Pet, and
- Pie-Eating!
Between 1pm and 5pm in and around the show-ring, there will be: a car boot sale (gates open at 10.30 for 11am); an army display team (dependent on operations); Urban Circus, Scotia Wings Motorcycles, Pipe Band; Celtic Moves dance troupe; the Early Learning Ceilidh Band; a Gun dog demo, food and refreshments and much more.
In the evening it's Family Night in the Marquee with children's entertainment and a Disco from 7pm. Adults £4, children pver 5 years £2, under 5's free.
Sunday 15th June
If you still have energy on Sunday why not join come and watch the Junior Football competition, 12pm, Victoria Park, followed by the P1-P7 & S1-S4 5-a-side football competition. Those interested in playing should register with George Fairbairn (tel 830145). Winners receive medals (and glory, of course!)
The footie is followed by a ceilidh in the marquee from 2pm to 5pm with the Lomond Ceilidh Band. £5 entry. Come along and help celebrate the end of a great festive week. (The marquee has a licensed bar which will be available from 11th to 15th June).
