The UK's first outdoor nursery has won a prestigious award in the same week as its official opening.
The Secret Garden, near Letham was honoured for its ‘outstanding contribution to play' in the annual award scheme run by the Nancy Ovens Trust, established in 2004 to commemorate the life and work of Nancy Ovens MBE, founder and first chair of Play Scotland.
Cathy Bache who founded The Secret Garden travelled to Glasgow at the weekend for the presentation which was made by Scotland's minister for children and early years Adam Ingram.
Inspired by a Norwegian idea, the Secret Garden is a not-for-profit organisation funded in part by Lottery grants. It officially opened on Monday and will provide care and education for 18 pre-schoolers, all in an outdoor setting.
