Freuchie lies amidst gentle rolling farmland, typical of the Howe of Fife. Often overlooked for its royal neighbour Falkland, Freuchie is an appealing historic village, close to many of the Howe's visitor attractions without being over-run with tourists.

If you have children to entertain don't miss Muddy Boots. As well as being a farm shop & cafe with pottery painting for all, it hosts some great kids activities including a huge jumping pillow, grass sledging, turf boarding and a quad train!
Attractions
Whilst Freuchie itself has no large tourist attractions it is has much history visible in its winding streets and is popular with golfers and those looking for a short break. 
It's only miles from Ladybank Golf Club and Falkland Golf Club both of which warmly welcome visitors and have golf professionals on hand to offer tuition and tips.
Equestrian enthusiasts are encouraged to experience the great indoor and outdoor facilities at nearby Dabbs Show and Activity Centre, which offers riding holidays and tuition for all ages.
For an adrenaline rush with a difference there's the Scottish Off Road Driving Centre just north of Strathmiglo. Freuchie is also an ideal base for hillwalking with the Lomond Hills Regional Park only a short walk away and providing an outstanding backdrop for hikes of varying difficulty. For those who prefer to cycle Freuchie is also a perfect overnight stop, being mid-way between many of Fife's 300 miles of interlinking cycleways.
Shopping
Freuchie Stores on the High Street provides most local grocery and household needs including sandwiches and bakery items. Larger supermarkets can be found in Glenrothes - approx 6 miles away. The area is well known for its agricultural produce and the many farms surrounding Freuchie (including Muddy Boots Farm shop in Balmacolm) ensure there's always plentiful local fruit and veg on offer.
Transport
If you're planning to travel in the Howe using public transport Traveline makes it easy.
By car: Freuchie is most easily reached by road, and is just off the A92 north of Glenrothes. Freuchie taxis can help you get there.

By Bus: Stagecoach operates a local bus service (no. 66 & 67) from Glenrothes - Cupar via Freuchie. Stagecoach also operate bus services to St Andrews, Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth, Dunfermline and Kinross. Travel Line, tel: 0871 200 22 33.
If are interested in car sharing, reducing petrol costs and helping the environment Tripshare can help. Lots of NE Fifers are regsitered now, making it a viable option for Howe residents to travel to work, or simply get around.
