Scouts announce no jumble sale this year
From David Gordon,
Monday, 7th April, 2008
The Freuchie Scout Group has reluctantly decided that, for the first time since jumble sales were held in the old Scout hut in 1963, there will be no jumble sale this year. Difficulties in getting sufficient parents to form a working committee has made for problems in the running of the Scout Group over the past months, and this has raised doubts as to how jumble could be collected and sold. It is regretted that this action has had to be taken, hopefully, for only this year, but the sale could not go ahead unless the Group was confident of being able to handle the complete operation.
