New citizen advocacy organisation seeks management team members

From Liane Cumming, Wednesday, 9th July, 2008

Our new organisation is missing something. Is it you?

Do you think that everyone in North-East Fife should have equal opportunities?  Do you want to make a difference?  Are you looking for a new way to give something back to your community? Then our new citizen advocacy organisation, includeME, is looking for you to join our management team.

includeME aims to provide people with learning difficulties living in NE Fife the opportunity to have their own citizen advocate.  Through the support of an advocate, we encourage the active presence of people with learning difficulties in all aspects of community life in NE Fife and their involvement in the decision-making regarding their own lives.

The management committee will have overall responsibility for the operation of the organisation and for ensuring we work towards realising our aims.  Being a committee member will require you to take an active role in the governance of includeME, on a voluntary basis. In return, management committee members will receive training and support to ensure they can be an active and valued member.  The big reward for you will be to help establish a new charity in North-East Fife and deliver a new resource for people with learning difficulties.

We are keen to hear from people who feel they can get something out of being on our committee.  We hope to have the committee set up by October and would like to hear from interested people between now and then.  Contact Liane Cumming, our Development Worker on 08451 555 555 ext 446904 or Liane.Cumming@fife.gov.uk.  You will be made most welcome and your services will be gratefully appreciated.
