  1. Falconry, Falkland Palace

    Watch these graceful creatures display their incredible natural skills. Eagles, falcons, merlins & more. Witness these magnificent birds flying free. Organised by the National trust for Scotland. Standard Falkland Palace admission charges apply.
  2. Follow Up Flood Action Meeting

    Wednesday, 8th October, 2008

    Freuchie Community Council is hosting a follow-up Flood Action Meeting on Wednesday 8 October, 7.30pm in the Lumsden Memorial Hall, Freuchie. The Community Council is seeking to progress measures which will identify causes and protect residents from further flooding such as that which occurred on Wednesday 13 August when 20 homes and over 22 gardens were flooded. Attending the meeting will be representatives of Fife Council, Fife Councillors, Kingdom Housing Association and others who will outline the progress in identifying the causes of the flooding and the action that needs to be taken. Residents are invited to draw attention to problems that have arisen in the past.

  4. Apple Day

    Join the harvest celebrations in the beautiful gardens of Falkland Palace. You can buy some of our locally produced organic apples. There will also be children’s entertainment, food tasting, apple exhibition and juice pressing. Booking not required.

  6. Celebrating My Garden

    Saturday, 25th October, 2008 — Sunday, 26th October, 2008

    Youngsters are called to be arty. An Art competition for primary schools has been organised at Falkland palace. Pupils are called to entry a painting, drawing, collage or other medium which reflects the gardens that Mary Queen of Scotts would have enjoyed. All entries will be exhibited in the Town Hall on Satruday 25 and Sunday 26 October. Entries must be submitted by 1 October. Entry forms and more infomation is available from Falkland Palace reception or call 08444932186 There are three categories Primary 1-2-3 / 4-5 / 6-7. There will be an individual prize per group and a school prize for best exhibit. Entries to be submitted by 1 October 2008. All entries will be exhibited in Falkland Town Hall. Dates: Saturday 25 October 2008 - Sunday 26 October 2008 Times: 11.00am-4.00pm on Saturday 25th and 1.00pm-4.00pm on Sunday 26th. Exhibition entry is free of charge
  7. Collessie Victory Hall Coffee Morning

  8. Sixth Annual Stewardship Lecture - Food

    Satish Kumar - "Reconnecting with food".“ Sadly, in the modern world most of us know not how to wait, how to fast nor, for that matter, how to feast.” The Sixth Annual Stewardship Lecture at the House of Falkland will be delivered by Satish Kumar, one of the country’s leading humanitarian activists. Satish is editor of Resurgence Magazine, which has been described as ‘the artistic and spiritual voice of the green movement’. He is founder and Director of Schumacher College as well as an internationally acclaimed author and speaker. Satish will deliver a lecture that focuses on our lost links with food and the impact it has on climate change. Tickets cost £25 but as ever we are offering the Friends of Falkland’s Heritage a discounted rate of £20. Organic wine & Fife Diet supper prepared by award winning chef Christopher Trotter.
