  1. Calling Freuchie funding ideas!

    Would you like to see Freuchie with a new tennis court, floodlights, play equipment or a picnic bench? Well here's your chance to make those dreams a reality. Get along to the Lumsden Memorial Hall this evening and share your ideas with members of Freuchie Community Council. Thanks to the Campion Homes development there's over £25k of funding available to improve the village. So please give us your feedback and ensure funds meet the most urgent community needs.

  3. Open Studios Fife

    Saturday, 3rd May, 2008 — Sunday, 4th May, 2008

    You are invited to visit up to 32 artists, designers and makers in their studios in the North of Fife (including Auchtermuchty, Dunshelt, Falkland, Collessie, Giffordtown, Ladybank) and discuss methods, inspirations and commissions with them directly. This is the third Open Studios Fife event and we're delighted to include access to more talented artists and makers than ever before. There's outstanding talent on our doorstep, and this opportunity to meet these artists and makers first-hand is a unique way to explore the landscape and the community.   4. FREE 'come and try' activity weekend at Lochore Meadows

    Saturday, 3rd May, 2008 — Sunday, 4th May, 2008

    Outdoor Education at Lochore Meadows are holding a FREE 'come and try' activity weekend on 3 and 4 May. Activities on offer are: kayaking open canoeing sailing - wayfarer mountain biking Sailing in the City - activities on the water for ages 8 to 14 Session last for 1.5 hours and you can take part in a maximum of 2 activities. Session times are 10am to 11.30am, 11.30am ro 1.30pm, 2pm to 3.30pm, 3.30pm to 5pm.   5. Freuchie in Flower: summer planting help needed

    Plans are going ahead for summer and any help with planting would be most appreciated. This will be our 'container morning' and there will be a caertain amount of lifting and cleaning to be done. Please come and lend a hand if you can.
  6. Bluelight Disco @ Elmwood College

    Friday, 9th May, 2008

    Elmwood College, Cupar is hosting its first ever Bluelight Disco Friday 9th May between 7pm - 11pm. The disco has been organised by a partnership between Fife Constabulary, Elmwood, Fife Council, NHS and Bell Baxter High School. Bluelight has been happening in Fife for the past 3 years attracting over 20,000 young people to attend. The aim is to provide a safe environment for young people to have fun. Everyone is breath tested and searched on entry to ensure that the disco is an alcohol free zone. Once inside the disco, information is available in the chill-out area about alcohol. PC Shirley Steele, Schools and Communities Education Officer said of the initiative; “Bluelight has proven to be very popular with young people across Fife. It is important to stress to parents that their son or daughter, in going to a Bluelight Disco, will be in a safe, alcohol free environment”. Tickets costing just £1 are available to buy from Bell Baxter or Elmwood College. Entry is by ticket only but this ticket can also be used to get free bus travel to and from the disco on any Stagecoach service bus.   8. Jamboree on the Trail - Support Freuchie Cubs and Scouts

    Saturday, 10th May, 2008

    Jamboree On The Trail is an annual day for the World Scout Movement to hike together. All Scouts, whatever their age and wherever they may be in the world, are invited to participate in whatever way they can. This year the Freuchie Cubs are completing a sponsored walk in Falkland Estate whilst the Scouts are cycling from Freuchie to Falkland Estate to Strathmiglo, and return, leaving from the Scout Hall at 10 a.m. Both Cubs and Scouts are seeking sponsorship for activities to raise money for Scout Group funds. Please support them generously.

  10. Fife SING 2008

    The Fife Traditional Singing weekend will bring some treasured traditional singers and some new voices to the area. Guests include Elizabeth Stewart from Mintlaw, Brian Watson from Northumberland, Ellen Mitchell from Glasgow, Jimmy Hutchison from Newburgh, Ron Bissett from Falkland and many, many more.   11. Fife Farmers Market - Cupar

    Cupar Farmers’ Market is held on the Third Saturday of every month. Likely producers include Iain Spink (Traditional Smokies From Arbroath), Puddledub Buffalo and Pork, Bellfield Organic Nursery, Caurnie Soap Co, Gartmorn Farm Poultry, Fletchers of Auchtermuchty and Hilton Wild Boar.   12. The Fife Show

    Fife Agriculatural Association present the Fife Show - fun for all the family. This year’s Show includes all the elements of a traditional agricultural show including pedigree and commercial cattle and sheep classes, goats, food marquee, and home produce. There will be classes for pets and dogs (entries taken on the day). There are also over 100 light and heavy horse showing classes and BSJA show jumping, including several Highland Show qualifiers (entries taken on the day). The Show also features a Game Fair, large trade stand section, including agricultural machinery, saddlery, quality Scottish crafts. There will be a children’s activity marquee and a food and cookery marquee. Main ring attractions include: Tractor pulling Vintage Parade Sky diving Falconry Terrier Racing Adults £8, children under 14 – FREE, OAPs £4. For full schedules and entry forms, see website.

  14. Give your view on Howe bus services

    Fife Council is seeking the views of local people on the current bus service provision with a view to improving services in East Fife. Local Bus Service contracts in East Fife are due for renewal in August 2009. There will be an opportunity for people to Have Their Say on their local bus services by dropping into Victoria Hall, Auchtermuchty - Monday 26 May 2008, 10.00am until 4.00pm.
