Where can you get Diesel/Petrol in the Howe of Fife?

From BBC News Scotland, Thursday, 24th April, 2008

The proposed shut down of the Grangemouth oil refinery is affecting petrol buying around Scotland including the Howe.

Queues at the pumps have been reported in some areas of the country (i.e. Perth), while others are still waiting for the effects to bite.

Bridgend Garage in Freuchie had 2000 litres of diesel and petrol remaining at 2.30pm today, but stocks are unlikely to last until Friday. Manager A.Pattie holds out little hope that yesterday's order will be fulfilled any time soon - priority garages have to receive deliveries first.

Burnside Auto Centre in Auchtermuchty just received a new delivery this morning and is confident they will survive the weekend. Minimum charge is £15 per person. Close at 6pm tonight.

Newburgh's Abbey Garage (tel 01337 840350) is almost out of petrol, but had plenty of diesel at 2.30pm today.

Further afield, the Rix garage in Kirkcaldy, Fife, has been condemned by locals for charging £1.30 for a litre of diesel and £1.20 for unleaded as demand increases ahead of any strike. The Shell garage in St Andrews has run out of both petrol and diesel and long queues have formed at the town's only other garage, Morrisons.

Shell on Leslie Road, Glenrothes, has no diesel but a delivery is expected today and the other Shell in Glenrothes only has premium fuel left.

People have been coming in buying small quantities just to fill up their tanks. There is no diesel in either the Shell or BP garage in Kirkcaldy.
