Freuchie pupils take a healthy interest

Monday, 24th March, 2008

Active living and good eating were on the menu at Freuchie Primary with a whole week focussing on the Health Promoting Schools programme. Children, parents and staff participated in Active Schools organised activities e.g. judo, skipping karate, massage and yoga. Class activities increased awareness of healthy living including anti-smoking, dental health and a healthy diet. Muddy Boots farm shop donated fruit and veg for the 'Create your own smoothie recipie' competition and the business will have a winning smoothie named after it! The programme culminated in a mile long Sport Relief run on the local cricket pitch.

Freuchie primary is working towards achieving health Promoting Schools status and thanked everyone who had contributed, especially health co-ordinator Mrs Heminsley, for organising evcents.
