Falkland Community Council Meeting 9 Sept - Flooding Problems

From Anthony Garrett, Sunday, 31st August, 2008

At the Falkland and Newton of Falkland Community Council monthly meeting on Tuesday September 9th, at 7.15pm in the Village Hall, the problems caused by the recent flooding will be raised with Fife Councillors present.

Falkland residents are welcome to attend and have their say.

The following is a statement from Fife Councillor Andrew Arbuckle re the flooding,

"As far as Fife Council is concerned, I have asked the various departments to bring forward reports on the flooding. This involves, Transportation, Emergency Services, Police and Housing. The reports are intended to identify where actions can take place to prevent a recurrence of the incidents experienced over the past month.

Following this, the North East Fife committee may well ask for a update on actions taken to be brought to a future meeting.

I realise this does not solve the problems being faced by individual householders but I hope that it demonstrates Fife Council is playing its part in preventing future flooding disasters."
