Falkland residents have been honoured for their horticultural handiwork.

The Falkland in Bloom Community Awards were presented in the Community Hall to recognise the efforts made by local gardeners and business owners during the season.

Chairman, Dave Clark, welcomed those attending and awards were presented by landscape gardener and horticulturist David Du Puy who had earlier undertaken the final round of judging in the village.

Committee secretary Bert Allan said many complimentary remarks were made about the high quality of the horticultural efforts despite the summer's dismal weather.
