Fife based band 'Four Point Turn' will open Lomond United AFC's evening at the Lomond Hills Hotel on 16 Feb, with a set of Scottish and Irish Folk music from 7pm to 9.30pm. this will be followed by a light supper and disco. Over 18s only. Tickets £5, available from the Hotel.

Locals are being urged to attend a meeting on 20 Feb to find out how they can help combat the threat posed by climate change and peak oil production, which it's feared come be only a few years away. Transition towns and villages are a popular concept in england, but Scotland has only 2 so far - Portobello and Dunbar. The idea is that communities work together locally to find solutions.
