Falkland & Newton of Falkland Online

Welcome to the Falkland and Newton of Falkland web portal

Falkland and Newton of Falkland stand only 1 mile apart, both villages nestled comfortably at the foot of the Lomond Hills.

Whilst Falkland is most well known for being the country residence of the Stewart Kings and Queens, Newton of Falkland is a sleepier hamlet with a long association with brewing and malting. Together the villages have a wide range of historic and environmental attractions and are seen by their communities as being good places to live, work, learn and play.

Whilst valuing its history, at the beginning of the 21st century Falkland presents itself as an accessible, open, pleasant village - home to a vibrant, local community that gives a friendly welcome to local and international visitors and new arrivals.

The village maintains a strong community ethos, founded on networks of family and neighbourhood, with volunteering at its heart. It is supported by a good indigenous business base, and has a range of restaurants, pubs, shops, visitor accommodation, a thriving village school and church.

The pages of this site give you more info on the community and how to get involved. But we recognise that what's listed here is the tip of the ice-berg. Smart Community Fife encourages you to share relevant information with the community via this portal.

Click on the My pages tab at the top of each page to find out how easy it is to have your news, event, business or organisation info published on this site.

Your opinion matters, please complete the online surveyAnd don't forget to tell us what you think of the site by completing our short survey. This is your community portal and we look forward to your input.

Thanks to the Falkland Centre for Stewardship who have kindly allowed us to use the banner photograph 'Panorama of East Lomond' by Paul Turner, on the Falkland pages of this portal.
