    Tuesday, 2nd February, 2010

Fife Council's Housing and Neighbourhood Services has, for a number of years, been fitting Solar Hot Water Panels with aim of improving the fuel costs and the carbon footprint of some of its own housing stock. This year we are fitting another 52 in homes in four areas around Fife. In addition we are seeking to use these installations to promote energy efficiency and renewable technologies to homeowners in the private sector.

Fife Council has teamed up with the Energy Saving Trust to offer Fife's home owners the opportunity to install solar water heating systems at hugely discounted prices. The Energy Saving Scotland advice centre is funded by the Scottish Government and provides free and impartial advice about how to stop wasting energy at home. Home owners can also find out if solar water heating is right for them.
