Enjoy some Kipper stories and activities. For ages 3-6.

Circular walk on paths and tracks around Markinch, Star Moss, Kirkforthar, returning through Balbirnie Estate. Note: No dogs please.

Ladybank Toddlers are meeting up in the top park or in the church hall every Wednesday morning during the school holidays from 10am to 11.30am. Everyone welcome.

Staff at the Loch Leven nature reserve are inviting families with children to join them for 'Monsters of the deep' pond dipping every Wednesday until 12 August. Places at any of these events should be booked in advance.

The Nethergate Writers are to hold the Fife launch of their new book "If Stones Could Speak". The book is a collection of fictional stories set in locations familiar to the authors, including many throughout Fife.

Among those featured in the anthology are St Andrews, Hill of Tarvit, Falkland Hill, Dunfermline, Elie and intriguingly, Methil Power Station. In keeping with Scotland's 2009 Homecoming Celebrations, a strong sense of place is key to each tale.

An equally diverse rangeof styles and subject matter is promised, including romance, fantasy, humour, history, crime and mystery. Nethergate Writers enjoyed success with their previous collection, 'Roots', which became the top seller in Dundee's Waterstone's last year.
