Join friends of Freuchie Parish Church for a Spring Walk through Glenrothes Town park on Sunday afternoon, 27th April. All should meet at the Church Hall at 2 p.m. Following the walk there will be refreshments at the church hall. Participants are encouraged to please donate £2.00 to church funds. Many thanks. -
Cultural Carnival 08 - Celebrate Life in Fife

Come along to Cultural Carnival -a celebration of the cultural diversity that's alive and well in North East Fife. Learn more about other cultures and enjoy unique entertainment in the form of demonstrations, workshops and information sessions on African Drumming, Chinese Calligraphy and Origami, Henna Painting, Food Tastings, Chinese Fan Dancing, Sari Wrapping and much, much more! Entry is free, all are welcome, and there's even transport help available for those living in outlying areas e.g. Howe villages. Simply call the number above to arrange. The Carnival is the second event of its type to be hosted by Elmwood College, who are working in partnership with many local organisations to showcase North East Fife’s commitment to embracing cultural diversity. -

Bygone Days Exhibition

Giffordtown Village Hall is staging an exhibition entitled 'Bygone Days' which features a collection of memorabilia from our rural past; farm and agricultural equipment, a domestic interior, a village shop with a daisplay of old advertising materials and a previously undiscovered cache of local photographs. There will also be live demonstrations of traditional crafts e.g. spinning, rag rug weaving and corn dolly making. Entry is free but donations for Hall funds are welcome. -

Traditional Music Workshop

The Auchtermuchty Festival Society in partnership with Elmwood College, is holding a new series of traditional music workshops in the Auchtermuchty Town Hall. Includes a special session for beginners. Workshops offer tuition in guitar, fiddle, tin whistle, mouth organ, accordian and keyboard. All adults and children from 8 upwards welcome to attend (an adult must accompany children under 10). Next three workshops are: May 4, May 18 and June 1 08. -

Freuchie Cricket Club Pre-season Tour to Northern Ireland

Why not join us for a weekend break? Our next big event is the pre-season tour to Northern Ireland, leaving on Friday 18th April and returning on Monday 21st, as much a social as a cricket event. We’ll have matches on Saturday and Sunday, with ceilidhs promised for both evenings. A great hooley, entirely. We would like to have a few more people coming with us – both to add to the party and, let’s be honest, to fill the bus. Auchtermuchty Festival Society Concert

Four great singers and musicians in one night! Come along and enjoy an evening of traditional music, starring American duo Laura Boosinger & Josh Goforth. Laura is based in North Carolina and is long established as one of the classier peformers on the Appalachian old-time circuit. She also plays the clawhammer banjo, autohar and guitar. Josh Goforth, although only in his mid 20s, has establisged himself as a 'one to watch' musician and is much in demand as a session player in Nashville. he is an acclaimed fiddler, guitar picker and mandlin player. Also on the bill are Paul Anderson and Shona Donaldson, fiddle / singing duo from Aberdeenshire.
