  2. Annual Music Festival: Fence Records

    Friday, 12th March, 2010 — Sunday, 14th March, 2010

The Homegame is Fence Records' annual music bash, and it takes place in our oh-so-picturesque hometown of Anstruther, in Fife. Anstruther is right beside the sea, y'know. It's really nice.

There is lots of music, oh yes yes yes.  It is lovingly spread over 3 days - with a glut of performances from artists on the Fence label, as well as a range of other up-and-coming Scottish, UK, and international acts. Plus, there's always a few very special guests.  These are usually the more expensive ones, in our HG budget.

We already have some ‘special' names lined up for this year, in fact - however, the full roster will not be revealed until a few weeks before the festival. You'll just have to trust us that it'll be amazing.

Homegame started in 2004 as a two-day bash in a small hall ... and now incorporates a bunch of different venues scattered across Anstruther and Cellardyke, attracting an audience from all corners of the UK and beyond.  The essence of the weekend hasn't changed, though - Homegame is really all about discovering new music, and enjoying your Fence faves, in an intimate environment. It's about hanging out with your pals, and making new friends too.  It's about waiting for over an hour for the best chips in the world, and having the worst hangover of the year on the Monday.

  3. Auchtermuchty Common Action Day

    Saturday, 13th March, 2010

An action day will be held on Saturday 13th March on the Whitefield of the Common. It is the ideal time to tackle the willow herb and ragwort which are encroaching into the grassland, so many hands are required. Tools and gloves will be provided. Apart from some fresh air & good company there will be an ample supply of home baking, tea and coffee. Stop at the car park on the Newburgh Road or wander up from the village via Bondgate. Please come along and lend a hand.

  4. Letham Nights #11 - The Bevvy Sisters & Kirsty Keatch

    Saturday, 13th March, 2010

If you were at either the Big Tent Festival in Falkland or at Belladrum in the summer you will know just how good the Bevvy Sisters are, blending their crystal clear, note perfect vocal harmonies with upbeat melodies and tunes you will just have to get up and dance to.  There is really not much we can add to the amazing accolades that the Bevvy Sisters have been regularly receiving over the past wee while,
"some of the silkiest, sultriest, sauciest harmonies ever likely to caress your ears." Sue Wilson
"....stunningly beautiful, endlessly shifting patterns of harmonic colour and overlapping resonance, creating a sound both rarefied and sumptuous." Northings - Highlands and Islands Arts Journal Dec 2008
"..started off at excellent, progressed swiftly to stunning, and fetched up as positively spectacular" * * * * The Scotsman Jan 2010 (Celtic Connections)

We are delighted they will be joined by MIBI award-winning musician Kirsty Keatch. At just 17 years old, Kirsty has an incredible talent for songwriting which she combines with her sense of melody to create beautifully crafted pop songs.  She scored highly at the MIBI awards in 2009, gaining a top score of 25 from Chris Martin.   This is how Mark Radcliffe, Broadcaster & Radio 2 Presenter described one of her songs:
"Kirsty has made a heartbreakingly gorgeous, ethereal pop track. The vulnerability in her voice really works with the chiming, haunting track. Wonderful".
