Fife rail disruption Friday 4 July - Monday 7 July

From Fife Direct News, Friday, 4th July, 2008

There will be no train services between Inverkeithing and Edinburgh on Saturday 5 July or Sunday 6 July 2008, due to the closure of rail lines between Edinburgh and Fife for essential Tram engineering work.

Inverkeithing Station turning circle will be used to operate a replacement bus service. All vehicle access, except buses, will be strictly prohibited.

Train ticket-holders can travel free on the rail replacement bus services from Inverkeithing to Edinburgh, and to Dalgety Bay to connect with on-ward train services.

A frequent shuttle bus service will also operate between Inverkeithing and North Queensferry.

All local bus services will continue to operate as normal from the station turning circle beside Platform 2

The taxi rank will be relocated to Chapel Place Car Park, which will be closed to all other vehicles except for Disabled parking, and drop off / pick up only.

Dalgety Bay Station car park will also be closed to vehicles except for buses, taxis and disabled parking, from 23:59 on Friday 4 July to 06:00 on Monday 7 July 2008, to allow for the operation of a replacement bus service.

Train ticket holders can travel free on the rail replacement bus services from Dalgety Bay to Edinburgh.

Alternative car parking will be available at the extended rail station car parks at Rosyth, Dunfermline Town and Aberdour. Ferrytoll Park & Ride also has 1,040 car park spaces and frequent bus services to Edinburgh and other destinations. Further details are available on http://www.ferrytoll.org/

An information booklet providing full details of revised rail timetables and replacement bus services during this work is available from staffed stations, or can be viewed and downloaded from http://www.firstscotrail.com/
