Cash to tackle Climate Change

From http://www.infoscotland.com/ourfuture/CCC_FirstPage.jsp, Monday, 30th June, 2008

Community groups in NE Fife are being urged to apply for new funding to help reduce carbon emissions in the area.

The Scottish Government is inviting a range of community groups to apply for grants which will make a real difference to climate change at a local level. Grants will be paid out by the Climate Challenge Fund, which has £18.8m to distribute over 3 years to communities which put forward their own solutions to make a significant reduction in carbon emissions. This could include using less energy, making it easier for people to buy sustainable food, or walking or cycling instead of using cars.

It is part of efforts by the Scottish Government to redce emissions by 80% by 2050.
