Hear Fife Dieters 'inspire' food experts on Radio 4
From BBC Radio 4,
Tuesday, 28th October, 2008
Fifers interested in food will probably already be aware of the Fife Diet - a project which celebrates local food, and in which 600 courageous Fifers have committed to eating only food sourced locally for 12 months.
Indeed because of the efforts and enthusiasm of Fife Dieters, many in the Howe have been encouraged to buy local, reduce their food miles and enjoy the seasonality of local produce as part of this unique project. But it doesn't stop there.
Mike and Karen Small (founders of the Fife Diet) have also 'inspired' an expert panel of economists and government food policy advisors that the Fife Diet formula is the future for sustainable food.
Hear a fascinating discussion on food, the Fife Diet, Transition Towns; and how forward thinking Fifers are leading the way for sustainability, on BBC Radio 4's Food Programme, available to hear online now at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/foodprogramme.shtml
