Elmwood College, Cupar is hosting its first ever Bluelight Disco Friday 9th May between 7pm - 11pm. The disco has been organised by a partnership between Fife Constabulary, Elmwood, Fife Council, NHS and Bell Baxter High School.
Bluelight has been happening in Fife for the past 3 years attracting over 20,000 young people to attend. The aim is to provide a safe environment for young people to have fun. Everyone is breath tested and searched on entry to ensure that the disco is an alcohol free zone. Once inside the disco, information is available in the chill-out area about alcohol.
PC Shirley Steele, Schools and Communities Education Officer said of the initiative; “Bluelight has proven to be very popular with young people across Fife. It is important to stress to parents that their son or daughter, in going to a Bluelight Disco, will be in a safe, alcohol free environment”.
Tickets costing just £1 are available to buy from Bell Baxter or Elmwood College. Entry is by ticket only but this ticket can also be used to get free bus travel to and from the disco on any Stagecoach service bus. More information and pictures of Bluelight Discos can be seen at www.bluelight.uk.net
