  1. Halloween Party, Collessie

    Saturday, 1st November, 2008

    Creepy fun for all the family with all the favourites: a pumpkin lantern competition, prizes for the best fancy dress and story/joke, and of course dooking for apples and all the usual gooey fun! Pizza and stovies will be served but please bring along your own drinks. Juice available for chidren. Starts 7pm and aims to finish at 9pm. Adults £3, children £2. Organised by the Hall Committee and all proceeds will go to upkeep of the hall.
  2. Traditional Scottish Music Concert

    Featuring 'Cabrach' and organised by the Hall Committee in conjunction with Friends of Collessie Church. £6 for entry including refreshments. Tickets available on the door.

    Inaugural glittering fundraiser for Macmillan -and possibly an opportunity to pick up a designer dress for £10! Good condition dresses, dry-cleaned & ready to wear include designers Kenzo, MaxMara, Frank Usher and Karen Millan as well as high street names Next & Monsoon. If you have something special you'd like to conbtribute, drop it off at Fishers in Cupar or Something Different hairdressers in Guardbridge. And get along early on the 8th for the best deals!
  4. NCT Children's Toys & Books Sale

    The NE Fife branch of the National Childcare Trust are holding another of their infamous nearly new sales at the Old Parish Church on sat Nov 8th. You'll be able to buy and sell children's toys, clothes, books, baby equipment and maternity clothes. Would-be sellers should contact the NCT branch at dundeefifenct.org.uk or call 0870 1129250 (between 7pm and 9pm).

  7. Old Time Dance - Nov 08

    Collessie Village hall plays host to another old time dance party with music from Jimmy Shand Junior. Tickets £4 each, available at the door.

    Cupar Farmers’ Market is held on the Third Saturday of every month. Likely producers include Iain Spink (Traditional Smokies From Arbroath), Puddledub Buffalo and Pork, Bellfield Organic Nursery, Caurnie Soap Co, Gartmorn Farm Poultry, Fletchers of Auchtermuchty and Hilton Wild Boar.   10. N.Howe Transition Toun: Preparing for a Changing Future

    The North Howe Transition Toun have been active this year, hosting a series of awareness raising events looking at possible effects of peak oil and climate change on the local community. There's growing interest from local people who want to get actively involved in practical projects to help us prepare for a changing future, and this public meeting at Letham Village Hall is the next stage in forming action groups to take ideas forward and develop specific projects. All welcome.

  14. Community Pub Night: The Travelling Transition Tavern

    The second Community Pub Night from the Travelling Transition Tavern will take place at Giffordtown Village Hall on 28th November from 8pm till midnight. This follows the success of the first night at Collessie Village Hall in October. Come along and sample the excellent local beer from Luckie Ales, Cairn O'Mhor Wines and much more. If you play an instrument, bring it and join in the live session. Bring your friends and neighbours. 26th Nov - Stop press!!!   15. Howe of Fife Rotary Club Ceilidh

    Members of the Rotary Club of the Howe of Fife look forward to welcoming visitors to their annual Christmas Ceilidh on Saturday 29 November, in Strathmiglo Village Hall. Doors open at 7.30pm.; tickets cost £10, which includes supper and dancing to the Bert Pozzi band. Tickets can be obtained either by contacting Club Service Chairman, Dennis Beattie, on 01337 840480, or at the venue on the night. All proceeds of the ceilidh will be added to the club's charity funds, for use in projects at home and abroad.
