Monimail Tower Project invites you to explore their historical landscape!

From Monimail Tower Project, Thursday, 27th November, 2008

On November the 29th from 11am to 5pm Monimail Tower Project is hosting an event to launch a leaflet which will improve access to the historical landscape of the Project.

The leaflet focuses on the era when Melville House was the home of the Earls of Leven, during which the Earls undertook some important improvements to their estate.

Monimail TowerIt contains a map to follow through the orchard and woods providing insights into the historical features. There will also be local guides available to answer any further questions and show you around.

Visitors can also take this opportunity to visit the medieval tower, once part of the summer palace of the archbishops of St Andrews. The tower contains an exhibition on its history and restoration and has fantastic views from the roof.

This is a woodland walk so please wear suitable footwear.

This project has been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Fife Environment Trust.
