Major new music festival coming to Elmwood College
From Fife Today,
Monday, 21st July, 2008
MEMORIES of 'T in the Park' are set to be revived soon as Cupar gears up for its very own music festival.
Some 5000 fans are expected to descend on the grounds of Elmwood College on September 6 for 'Elmwoodstock', an ambitious one-day event headlined by some of Scotland's most popular bands.
Fresh from their triumph at Balado, Glenrothes band Sergeant are due to join indie rockers Idlewild to top the line-up, which also includes the Stars from the Commitments and Celtic rockers Wolfstone.

Also just confirmed is the north east Fife band State of Affairs, who made their debut on the 'T Break' stage at T in the Park last weekend.
The festival, which will round off freshers' week, is being organised by college staff and students with the help of Lottery funding, and proceeds will go to Friends of the Earth Scotland.
In addition to the line-up of live bands, there will be stalls, food concessions, a beer tent and children's entertainers.
The idea for the festival came about as a result of students' comments that they would like to see more live music in the college.
It quickly gained momentum, and organisers have been working in conjunction with Fife Council and the police to ensure that the day runs smoothly.
Student adviser Jo McCulloch said that it was hoped that the festival would create a 'buzz' in the town and would have knock-on benefits for local businesses.
She said: "Neither staff nor students have ever organised anything on this scale and it's really exciting to be a part of.
Already the news is spreading rapidly by word of mouth and on the internet that Elmwoodstock is the place to be on September 6.
"We've tried to encompass a wide range of musical tastes and have worked hard to bring bands to Cupar that will appeal to all ages."
Tickets for Elmwoodstock cost £15 for adults (£12 for concessions) and £3 for children under 14.
They can be ordered on the college's ticket hotline - 01334 658855 - or online through Ticketmaster at www.ticketweb.co.uk.
