New minister in Howe of Fife pulpit
From Fife Today,
Friday, 18th July, 2008
The new minister of Howe of Fife Parish Church took his first service on Sunday.
The Rev. Dr Gordon McCracken, who was inducted at Kettle Church almost two weeks ago, held a joint service in Collessie Church which was attended by members of all four congregations that make up the Howe of Fife parish.
Dr McCracken (52), worked for three years as an interim minister, mostly in his native city of Glasgow, before taking up his new appointment in north east Fife.
He said: "Howe of Fife is a beautiful parish made up of rural communities which each have their own a distinct character, and I'm enjoying getting around and meeting people with the aim of bringing them all together in worship."
Howe of Fife Church has been without a full-time minister since Rev. Marion Paton left last September to take up a charge in Dundee.
Dr McCracken has been appointed to the parish for a period of up to two years.
