Music for a Summer's Evening, Monimail Church

 "Music For A Summer's Evening" is the title for a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some light classical music & song in Monimail Church on Thursday 21st August at 7:30 pm. Patrons will  also enjoy wine and canapes in the picturesque setting of the church grounds with all proceeds being split between The Bluebell Project, Monimail Church and Creich Flisk and Kilmany Church.

Music is being provided by the Alevare Duo accompanied by Aimee Penman (Soprano) and Nicholas Rees (guitar).

The Alevare Duo (Rhiannon Sinclair and Alison Storm) will be performing music by Astor Piazzolla, Maurice Ravel, Joaquin Rodrigo, Ferdinando Carulli and John Duarte.

Nicholas will perform classical guitar solos by Francisco Tarrega and JS Bach, and together with Aimee they will perform some airs by John Dowland as well as a selection of jazz and traditional folk songs.

Rhiannon (Flute) and Alison (Guitar) formed the Alevare Duo whilst studying at the Ian Tomlin School of Music, Napier University in 2004. Venues they have played include Edinburgh Castle, the Danish Cultural Institute (Fete de la Musique 2005) and the National Museum of Scotland (Fringe 05).

Aimee, a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus has sung with the Edinburgh International Festival Chorus for 3 years. Her past musical achievements include singing the solo in Scottish Ballet's production of 'The Snowman' for two years, soloist in Faure's Requiem, Vivaldi's Gloria, with Napier Chamber Choir and soprano in Haydn's Harmonie Mass and Rutter's Requiem with Bearsden Choir.
