Open spaces
Fife council run Low Road Park, home of the "famous" Auchtermuchty Bellvue AFC. Dunshalt has a large and attractive children's play park on Ivy Place, overlooking rural farmland. |
Walking & Cycling
Auchtermuchty Common, managed senstively by the Macduff Trust has 4 distinct areas around Muchty, some of which offer pleasant walking. Other local routes include Auchtermuchty to Abernethy: Old Drover's Route: a 5.6 mile walk or cycle through Pitmedden Forest. | |
The landmark Lomond Hills Regional Park with its expansive summit views, provides exceptional hill walking. Why not try this easy-ish hike to Fife's highest peak, West Lomond from Craigmead car park - it's under 5 miles and around 1.5 hours. | ![]() |
The excellent Kingdom of Fife Millennium Cycleway has many routes which pass through Auchtermuchty: The Ladybank - Auchtermuchty - Falkland circular route (which also passes through Dunshalt), is 15.5 miles (25km) on and off road and is suitable for older children. Or try a localised version of the above the Howe of Fife Circular at 17.8 miles. | ![]() |
