  2. Creative Flower Painting Workshop with Kirsty Lorenz

    Saturday, 20th March, 2010 — Sunday, 21st March, 2010

Kirsty has begun running a limited number of small painting workshops. The workshops offer the chance to learn from the reputed flower painter in her bright, unusual and inspiring studio rooms on Platform 2, Ladybank Railway Station. Kirsty shares her inspirations from Art History, her skill and enthusiasm for portraying flowers, their different characters and structures. Working from a wonderful array of live flowers and the artist's extensive collection of photographs, participants explore the potential of acrylic paints, colour theory, the use of line, form, scale and composition. High quality materials are supplied ensuring the best possible results, in particular beautiful swiss made Lascaux Sirius Acrylic paints. They are a very pure quality pigmented acrylic paint that allows for a fantastic resonant range of colour mixing. Also supplied are papers, canvas boards, pencils, charcoals, pastels, inks etc.

Participants are encouraged to experiment and take new skills and knowledge away with them. Workshops are structured to support the development of both beginners and more experienced painters. There are a couple of places left on this workshop with further dates in May, June and July. Price is £40 per day including all materials. Please call Kirsty on 07990 632 858 or visit her website for more info. Special workshops can be arranged and devised for groups of friends or art groups.
